More plants, less footprints
We know that food packaging has a fundamental role to play in reducing the environmental footprint of our food. As a brand that is committed to prioritising the planet, our team are constantly looking for new and more sustainable packaging materials that tick all the boxes.
There are still certain plastics which can’t be recycled at home and previously our pouches have been going to landfill. This didn’t sit right with us, so we teamed up with Enval to create our Recycling Scheme: a scheme to help close the loop and leave no plastic unrecycled.
Merchant Gourmet takes no profit from this scheme. By paying for an envelope or just filling the one you have, you are helping to part-pay for the cost of the scheme, whilst also making a contribution to the development of this innovative new recycling technology.
Who is Enval?
Enval has developed the world’s only truly sustainable process for the treatment of plastic aluminium laminates. This process turns the plastic into oil so that it can be made into new plastics and the aluminium is ready to make into new products. This is a step closer to fully closing the recycling loop.
