How long have you been at MG?
Just over a year – since February 2021.
Explain your job in one or two sentences.
I work with grocery retailers to get Merchant Gourmet products on to people’s plates.
Tell us about a typical day to day in your role at MG?
I start the day by checking how sales are tracking, making any forecast updates needed and informing the rest of the team. I’ll respond to any retailer requests as they come in – these could be related to planning promotions, insight into category performance or for product samples to try! Usually, I will be preparing for, or in meetings with retail buyers, discussing upcoming launches or activities we are planning together. I also work closely with my colleagues in marketing – ensuring our retailer plans are integrated with our campaigns, and with supply chain to ensure we can supply the stock our customers need. The rest of the day is spent analysing performance of previous initiatives and modelling future scenarios.
What’s the best part about working at MG?
The supportive environment – we are a team focused on the same goals and everyone’s contribution is really valued.
What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role?
Managing multiple accounts that are growing fast!
Best piece of advice you’ve been given.
If you have to eat a frog, eat it for breakfast! Get the worst task out of the way first.
